In April 2023, I took the plunge and enrolled in an 8-week course on writing for video games. I was on the newsletter about the course for a few years, but had a lot of doubts about whether I was ready and willing to make the investment in myself - and I finally did it! I’ve always been fascinated by the storytelling potential in video games and wanted to see how the skills I’ve accrued as a tabletop game designer and visual storyteller might translate to digital video games. The course was extremely fulfilling, not only giving me a base vocabulary for how to talk about narrative in games, but it also encouraged me to analyze what makes me tick creatively and what I am really looking for in a creative career.
