Adopting Audrey
Job Title: Graphic Designer
Production Designer: Debbie de Villa
Adopting Audrey was my first experience working on an independent film. The movie shot in Saugerties, while I was sending graphic assets remotely from the city. This was the first time I was working on a project that was being built from scratch, as opposed to an existing series or property. Being on a smaller team with a slightly longer prep period allowed me the space to play and contribute my own creative suggestions to the pieces I contributed.
Hero Scripted Prop - “Fat Daddy” Firework
Additional Firework Wraps - Set up for in-house printing, to be mounted to props by scenic
Hero Prop - Aged Photograph
Bourbon Nip Label
Front Box Cover - Chop Saw Box
This is one of those jobs where a lot didn’t make it into the final cut of the film. In the original script, there was a scene where Audrey has photoshopped a photo of a shark attack into a presentation about a sightseeing cruise - it has to be laid out so the asset could be viewed cropped, and then zoomed out to reveal the joke. Ultimately, the story is better served by that scene being cut - but it was a funny challenge to take on.
